About

What is ChronoDrawer?

Pick a year and month to see what happened around the world, what opened, and which music, films, TV shows, games and books were released — across countries, in one table. Coverage: 1970–1999.

Source

All entries come from Wikidata (CC0). Every row links to its Wikidata item. Titles link to English Wikipedia (or Wikidata when there is no article).

Dates

Dates are when something happened, opened, was released, premiered, first aired or was published in that country. When we know a different first-release date or the Japanese release date, it is shown below the title.

Limits

“Most notable” ranks by the number of Wikipedia language editions with an article. The source data has gaps and errors, especially for older and non-English entries.

For AI and research

Monthly data is available as JSON (e.g. /api/1985-08.json); see llms.txt. Please cite “ChronoDrawer (https://chronodrawer.org)” together with Wikidata.
